Let’s talk about BIG weather: Building the Future

Come along to this casual inclusive afternoon tea, hosted by Make a Change Australia with The Station Café. Hear from local speakers & discuss ideas over a cuppa & cake.

Big weather will impact young people more than anyone else in the future. At this gathering, we’ll hear from young people about their experiences & responses.

Speakers include:
• Kelsey MacDonald, Youth Climate Network. Kelsey is an artist, Masters student and a climate and mental health advocate. Kelsey will talk about climate anxiety in young people and how positive actions can work as an effective antidote
• Jemille McKenzie, Youth Climate Network and outreach worker for those sleeping rough. Jemille will discuss inclusivity in climate advocacy
• Sam Kane, has an incredible story of campaigning to save the Golden Square pool from the age of 14. He now is the president of the pool and leads a team of 90 volunteers at this important community hub
• Saf Rowe, Year 12 student from Maryborough Education Centre, sharing her thoughts & perspective on climate change & sustainability

This is a fantastic opportunity to understand the unique perspectives of young people and to explore how we can integrate their insights and energy into our efforts to tackle BIG weather challenge.

Everyone is welcome, & we’d love to see you there!
